It is lightly explained about Ichigo’s dad, how he said that he never called Kon by the name Ichigo when he was in Ichogo’s body. His dad kept it a secret, to the point where he faked not being able to see spirits.
This does explain though why Ichigo had his own Soul Reaper abilities in him(Said back when he lost them(Rukia’s ones) and then told he has his own).

As for Uryu’s father, he always had the Quincey powers, it was said that he never wanted them, that he never used them, and therefore we assumed that he never developed them.

The fact that they revealed both the Quincey and Soul Reaper main character Fathers BOTH had the abilities at a greater level is extremely cliche though. Doesn’t mean that it isn’t going to be a good story!
